We all know the famous fashion icon that turned luxury fashion into accessible luxury. She turned the accessories into luxury that was accessible to everyone. Let me give you a little insight of her life and how she started her famous brand that landed her billions and made her known throughout the whole world.

Katherine Noel Brosnahan, was her real name, launched her famous brand alongside her husband and best friend Andy Spade in 1998. She started out small with a few day-to-day handbags and grew to the worldwide known sensation we know today. But ever the brightest ones have their own personal struggles. Even if it looked like, in the early 2000’s, that Kate had it all, on the inside Kate struggled with severe depression and anxiety.

For most of us it sounds impossible that someone with this much success, fame, money that looked like they had it all, family, friends, money and so on could even be depressed Kate Spade is the one that taught the whole world that mental stability is the most valuable asset someone could ever have despite the material things.

She batted with this for a long time given the pressure that comes with popularity and maintaining her cheerful personality, but even if on the outside people see a cheerful person no one really knows what’s happening on the inside, she actually fought demons till her last breath and deeply suffered from separation anxiety due to her husband.

On a random day right in the middle of planing her summer vacation with her best friend she overdosed in her New York apartment leaving behind a heartbroken family, socked fans and a legacy that will live on for decades to come.

Mental health is no joke and I’ve prioritized mine my whole life. Going to a therapist just to talk is not something to be ashamed of it’s actually cool and making fun of people is extremely because of it is lame, I said what I said. Cool people don’t do that. I’ll just leave this here in case anyone needs to hear it, you’re not weird because of your trauma it makes you who you are today and the difficult times won’t last forever. There’s brighter days ahed, and I’ve heard the sun after the storm is really bright and worth it, so don’t stop fighting and working through it, your future self will thank you for it.

Till next time….
